Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Officer with a strong background in programming to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and security of our IT systems while also contributing to the development and enhancement of our software infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Administration:

·        Maintain and monitor the bank’s IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance.

·        Manage servers, networks, and associated hardware and software components

 

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as necessary.

2. Programming and Development:

·        Design, develop, and maintain scripts, tools, and automation processes to optimize system management tasks.

·        Collaborate with software developers to integrate systems and applications, ensuring seamless functionality.

·        Assist in the development of software solutions to enhance internal processes and customer experiences.

3. Security and Compliance:

·        Implement and maintain security measures to protect the institutions data and systems from potential threats.

·        Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices for data privacy and security.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

·        Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.

·        Generate regular reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.

5. Technical Support:

·        Provide technical support to end-users, addressing IT-related inquiries and issues promptly.

·        Collaborate with the helpdesk team to ensure timely and effective problem resolution.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

·        Proven experience as a System Administrator with a focus on programming and automation.

Familiarity with system administration tools and technologies, including server virtualization, cloud services,

and networking protocols.

·        Strong understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures.

·        Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

·        Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide user support.

 

Additional Skills (Preferred):

·        Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins).

·        Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Certification in relevant fields such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure/AWS Administrator
