We are an equal opportunity employer and are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the position, IT Risk and Security Officer. The position will be based in Walvis Bay, Namibia. Primary Purpose: To fulfil two key functions: supporting embedded security analysis within the IT team and driving risk management efforts. The role will focus on optimising risk and security processes to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery in a dynamic and complex IT environment.
- Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated to adapt to changing threats and technologies.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in IT systems and processes, and continuously monitor and evaluate risk indicators, adjusting strategies as necessary.
- Coordinate with the team to address and resolve incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide training and support to staff on security awareness and best practices to enhance overall security posture.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies related to IT security and data protection.
- Assist with audits and assessments to verify adherence to security controls and protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT risk management, information security, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of security technologies, risk assessment tools, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
