Job Purpose.
Execute the safe and timely transport of passengers and goods, maintain
operational efficiency and adherence to safety and service standards, scheduled
timelines across all designated routes.
Key Responsibility Areas.
1. Ensure the vehicle has the UpToDate essential documentation.
2. Handle the vehicle with professionalism and maturity.
3. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and good appearance of the vehicle.
4. Monitor fuel usage and refilling, ensuring accurate records and proper
accountability.
5. Conduct routine and daily vehicle checks, promptly report faults and
coordinate repairs.
6. Follow correct procedures to ensure maintenance issues are managed quickly
and efficiently.
7. Maintain an accurate record of all vehicle equipment that is within the vehicle.
8. Perform general and regular daily checks on the vehicle to ensure the vehicle
is in a proper mechanical and body condition, thus roadworthy and safe.
9. Ensure that all emergency equipment is available in the vehicle.
10. Inspect cars before long journeys to ensure the car is fit for the journey.
11. Track servicing schedules and inform the line manager in advance for timely
maintenance.
12. Adhere to the driver code of conduct and Watoto Ministries policies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience.
The applicant for the role should have a minimum of an Advanced level
Certificate.
The applicant should have a minimum of 6 years working experience as a
driver.
Must have a valid driving permit with a minimum class of a DL.
Ability to drive in a safe manner according to local and international,
knowledge of defence driving, basic traffic signs and regulations.
Demonstrates ability to diagnose and fix simple mechanical problems and
report major mechanical problems.
Excellent knowledge of the city and major motorways in Uganda.
