- Conduct laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Prepare samples and perform a variety of chemical, microbiological, and physical tests on products.
- Maintain accurate records of all tests and analyses performed, ensuring proper documentation is followed.
- Assist in the development of new testing methods and procedures to improve laboratory efficiency.
- Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.
- Analyze test results and report findings to senior management with recommendations for quality improvements.
- Participate in internal audits and external inspections, ensuring lab equipment and processes comply with industry standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and quality assurance initiatives.
- Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and quality assurance practices.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a lab technician.
- Must be a member of the Agricultural Institute of Zambia.
- Strong understanding of laboratory testing procedures, methodologies, and equipment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and laboratory information management systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
