Responsibilities:

Assist the Laboratory scientist in collecting and preparing samples by carrying out the following tasks.

Support malaria sample collections from field sites and health facilities

Record and scan sample information into digitized templates / spreadsheets.

Perform microscope slide reading to confirm parasitaemia

Extract DNA, perform PCRs, process gels.

Store samples at appropriate temperatures and conditions.

Required skills and experience:

Diploma in Lab science or Biomedical Sciences

At least one (1) year relevant experience in a molecular science laboratory

Must be computer literate

Proven ability to keep records with an attention to detail

Experience in malaria research a bonus
