Specific responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and support to Country Directors in collaboration with the Global Support Office (HR, finance, operations, programs and training, fundraising, representation).
- Lead the start-up of new country offices with the Country Office Liaison (COL) team, recruit new Country Directors, and ensure a high-quality onboarding process for new country leadership.
- Lead the performance management system for Country Directors and COL.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across country offices.
- Ensure country offices are helping to deliver on CorpsAfrica’s strategic plan.
- Identify potential obstacles and risks and engage the relevant staff to mitigate and solve the issues.
- Identify potential continent and regional development partners to support country office programs.
- Attend conferences and meetings on behalf of the organization.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of increasingly responsible work experience, five in the NGO sector, including as a Country Director, with good knowledge of budget management, HR systems, program design and implementation, and representation.
- Outstanding participatory leadership skills and experience in coaching and mentoring.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage up and down an organizational structure.
- Highly collaborative style and demonstrated ability to work across cultures.
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, presentation, and creative problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English is required, and French is highly desirable.
- A strong commitment to the mission of CorpsAfrica and a desire to support youth leadership and participatory community development.
