Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Develop and implement comprehensive operational readiness plans for new processes, equipment, and technologies.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to prepare for the successful commissioning, start-up, and handover of copper concentrator systems.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential operational challenges and establish mitigation strategies.
• Analyze existing operations using data-driven methodologies to identify areas for performance improvement and efficiency gains.
• Lead initiatives to enhance processing methodologies, including comminution, flotation, and concentrate handling.
• Oversee the implementation of technology and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency.
• Design and implement comprehensive training programs for operational staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about new equipment, processes, and safety standards.
• Develop mentorship and coaching programs to help staff advance their skills and career paths in operational roles.
• Conduct regular assessments of training effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
• Regularly analyze operational data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Foster strong relationships with department heads, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and collaboration on operational readiness initiatives.
• Act as a liaison between management and operational staff regarding changes, improvements, and requirements.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to drive operational improvement projects and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Assist in developing and managing the operational readiness budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for initiatives and maintaining cost control.
• Lead change management initiatives by assessing the impact of operational changes on staffing, processes, and technologies.
• Develop and implement strategies to effectively manage resistance and ensure smooth transitions during operational changes.
• Establish and implement contingency plans to ensure operational continuity in case of unexpected disruptions or emergencies.
• Coordinate the operational response during crises, facilitating communication and decision-making among key stakeholders.To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/engineering technology or related field
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in EPC commissioning and Plant Operations
• Experience in the mining process plant industry, with specific experience in copper sulphide plants.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and good communicator
• Must be familiar with safe working practices.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
