The University of Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Part-time Lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Planning. The appointed candidate will primarily teach courses in the Urban and Regional Planning Programme, which is fully accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Duties:
The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Urban and Regional Economics, Regional and Rural Development Planning, and Public Participation & Negotiation Techniques; (ii) Supervise/co-supervise undergraduate student research projects; (iii) and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements:
Applicants should have:
(i) at least a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning or cognate field;
(ii) a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or cognate field;
(iii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or cognate field. Evidence of engagement in research as well as teaching experience at university or comparative institution will be an added advantage.
N.B. Applicants with a Master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning or related field, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban & Regional Planning of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 on a 5-point scale or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.
