As part of the Legal Team, this post provides advice, training, project management and administrative support on legal compliance regulations, including Data Protection and Anti-Terrorism and Anti-Money Laundering (AT&AML) sanctions, including management of the legal compliance screening software and data privacy software. As well as supporting legal compliance workstreams and managing legal compliance and data privacy incidents.

This post involves working largely within Global Hub and / or online with colleagues across Plan International to deliver a high-quality service.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Working alongside the General Counsel and Senior Legal Compliance Counsel on AT&AML sanctions compliance.

Global Functional Lead of the AT&AML legal compliance screening systems. Including ensuring the appropriateness of screening system and integration with other Plan International key enterprise systems such as the HRIS and the Enterprise Resource Management systems.

· Advising on and administering the AT&AML screening procedures

· Develop and roll out Policies, Training and Tools to support AT&AML awareness and compliance across Plan International Offices.

· Global Functional Led within CAMMS incident system for AT&AML supporting Plan’s International’s response to any sanctions breach incident within its incident and crisis management frameworks

· Working alongside the Data Privacy Manager and General Counsel to inform, advise on and monitor compliance with relevant Data Protection laws.

· Develop and roll out Policies, Training and Tools to support Data Privacy awareness and compliance across Plan International Offices.

· Reviewing and advising colleagues across PII on Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs)

· Reviewing and advising colleagues across PII on the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA)

· Global Functional Led within CAMMS incident system for Data Privacy supporting Plan’s International’s response to any data breach incident within its incident and crisis management frameworks

· Support the administration of the Data Privacy Focal Point Network.

· Advising on appropriateness of legal claims management and host country registration systems/databases as business requirements evolve.

· Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

High levels of contact with the General Counsel, Data Privacy Manager, Legal Compliance Counsel and Deputy General Counsel.

Moderate levels of contact with Legal Counsel and Global Risk Management, Human Resources and Procurement Team.
