The Logistics Coordinator is called upon to ensure the smooth operation of logistics in the country in support of ongoing projects.
Key duties
- To support the country manager in the implementation of the country security plan, with particular regard to transportation, housing and offices
- To ensure and supervise the adequacy and routine maintenance of offices and staff housing
- To manage and document the procurement of drugs, consumables and equipment, in compliance with NGO and donor procedures and in collaboration with logisticians at the various sites
- To supervise and ensure the proper operation and maintenance of vehicles
- To ensure the traceability of purchases monitoring and checking the implementation of the system adopted in the country
- To ensure the traceability of the supply chain of all items purchased in the field sites within the country
- To organize and coordinate staff transfers and transportation of materials
- To manage and monitor the proper functioning of the means of communication
- To prepare a monthly report of logistics activities
- To coordinate, supervise and train logisticians or logistics assistants at the various sites
- To ensure adequate documentation of activities carried out for reporting purposes
Requirements
- Previous professional experience in logistics in fragile countries and/or resource-limited settings
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
- Aptitude for problem solving and organizational skills
- Dynamism, adaptability and flexibility
- Degree in humanitarian logistics will be considered favorably
