To implement and monitor progress of planned and preventive maintenance programmes for primary transmission substations, specific to power transformers, air conditioners, fire suppression systems, switchgear, and voltage regulating equipment.
Key Result Areas
1. Carry-out inspection of transmission substations, attend to emergencies, implement maintenance program specific to power transformers, fire suppression systems and switchyard equipment, and prepare job reports as well as weekly and monthly maintenance progress and activity reports.
2. Compile specific job requirements (i.e. tools, manpower, equipment, logistics and materials) for expeditious planned maintenance and emergencies, while ensuring attainment of set technical, financial and safety targets.
3. Test and commission substation plants, equipment and auxiliary circuits before placement in service, after repairs and modifications and on recovery from service.
4. Compile and update a database of all transmission substation drawings, plant and equipment, tools and consumables inventory
THE PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
University Degree in Electrical or Electro Mechanical Engineering.
2 years’ experience in maintenance of power transformers and switchgear
Must be prepared to work for long hours outside the normal hours.
Must be computer literate.
Must possess a valid National driving permit.
