General Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, coordinate Management Information System (MIS) activities including database management and system administration, system analysis, web development, application customization and development, network administration, and technical support; while maintaining company policy and procedures.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate the entire MIS and electronic data operations of the company.
  • Coordinate with Business Unit and Department managers to determine the strategic and operational MIS infrastructure needs; and plan and implement such
  • requirements on a step-by-step basis.
  • Develop policies/procedures to ensure that MIS operates effectively and reliably.
  • Plan and coordinate the maintenance, upgrade, development and implementation of database and information systems based on operational needs of the company.
  • Monitor the company server, network, and computer systems for any irregularities and performance issues.
  • Monitor installations and functionality of important software including ISUZU spare part catalog, ERP, MARAKI, ERCA customs, WEB application, Bulk SMS system, corporate email system, Company web site, ISUZU customer relations system etc.
  • Assess system data and error logs, along with user reports to determine areas for improvement or repair.
  • Determine when systems or servers are due for upgrades.
  • Provide professional and technical assistance in the process of selecting and purchasing new replacement of hardware and software when necessary.
  • Coordinate testing, troubleshooting, and customizing information systems so that they operate effectively.
  • Evaluate technology risks in order to develop a system failure recovery plan and backup procedures.
  • Develop guidelines for users and technicians such as employee handbooks for MIS department personnel as well as users.
  • Play a direct role in negotiating contracts with MIS service providers, by assessing department and business needs and present them to service providers/vendors upon approval of the top management.
  • Verify application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
  • Recommend information technologies, policies, and procedures by evaluating outcomes, identifying problems, and anticipating organizational requirements.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Develop methods to streamline and upgrade systems, while monitoring the system to ensure that it remains stable and usable, and maintain data security through the migration process.
  • Design, code and modify websites, from layout to function and according to user department requirement.
  • Create a visually appealing sites, which are user-friendly and easy for navigation.
  • Integrating data from various back-end services and databases.
  • Create and maintain software documentation for reference purposes.
  • Evaluate, test, deploy and configure software, hardware, antivirus and networks to the server infrastructure.
  • Ensure security on regular and on-demand bases through access controls, backups, recoveries, firewalls, accounts and workstations.
  • Ensure network connectivity by installing LAN/WAN systems.
  • Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
  • Coordinate administration of servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, telephones, software deployment, and security updates.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the MIS department and its staff; while also directly supporting end users by resolving their issues.
  • Provide professional assistance and leadership to MIS staff working for Business units in different geographic locations.
  • Remain up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.
  • Conduct employee performance appraisal periodically to evaluate how well employees have completed their duty and to take any needful action accordingly.
  • Prepare department performance report for submission to the Managing Director.

Job Requirements

Qualification :

MSc Degree or BSc Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or MIS

Work Experience :

10 years for BSc Degree graduate, and 8 years for MSc Degree in relevant role

Required Competence :

  • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and information management
  • Proficient in Microsoft windows, and software including ERP, server, office, etc.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Flexible working hours
