Job Purpose:  

The Manager of Regulatory Compliance, Conduct & ABC risk will support Head of compliance in the implementation and management of the Banks Regulatory Compliance, Conduct & ABC programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and anti-bribery & corruption standards. The role includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, assisting in risk assessments, conducting compliance audits, and providing guidance to the organization on best practices to ensure that the Bank remains compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Regulatory Compliance: 

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining regulatory compliance policies and procedures. 
  • Assist the Head of regulatory and Head of EBKL compliance Implement the Board of risk appetite metrics, implement Conduct Management Policy, Conduct Risk Plans, and revise Whistleblower, Conflict of Interest, Insider Trading and Market Abuse, Gift and Entertainment policies. All policies to be clear, concise, consistent, and user-friendly 
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the organization’s compliance with evolving laws, regulations, and standards. 
  • Maintain, Update and Automate Obligations Register (OR) to monitor compliance with applicable regulations and generate Management Information (MI) on issue remediation and forward-looking risks, which are to be reported to NFRC and BRAC 
  • Conduct periodic audits and assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. 
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports to relevant authorities. 
  • Conduct Risk Control Self-Assessment and Compliance testing for key Data Protection, Regulatory Conduct, and Customer Conduct processes, including Complaints Handling, Products/Services Periodic Reviews, Consent Management, Data Subject Rights, GRRP, and New/Amended Laws and Regulations Lifecycle processes. 
  • Assist in the management of regulatory inspections, Conduct plans and inquiries. 

Conduct risk & Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC): 

  • Participate in the development, review, and enhancement of EBKL policies and procedures related to Regulatory compliance ABC and Conduct risk. 
  • Support EBKL businesses/functions and the third-party team to conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews of ABC high risk transactions and relationships such as hiring, strategic transactions (JV, M&A, Partnerships etc.). 
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice to the EBKL business/Functions related to ABC risk and conduct risk. 
  • Support EBKL in the development and delivery of the training programs and awareness initiatives on ABC and conduct risk. 
  • Undertaking EBKL ABC and Conduct risk deep dives as may be deemed necessary. 
  • creation and execution of EBKL conduct plans, provision of subject matter expert guidance on Gifting and entertainment, sponsorship and donation and processes, and day to day liaison with regulatory bodies. 
  • Collaborate with internal audit teams to provide relevant information, insights, and support during internal audits related to ABC and Conduct risk. 
  • Participate in industry forums, conferences, and working groups related to ABC and Conduct risk, staying informed of best practices and benchmarking against peers. 
  • Foster a strong risk culture within the ABC and Conduct risk department and across the organization, promoting awareness, accountability, and a proactive approach to managing ABC and conduct risks. 
  • Monitor changes in relevant industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices, ensuring the ABC and Conduct risk department’s activities remain compliant and updated accordingly. 
  • Support businesses and functions to establish and maintain conduct plans by providing SME guidance. 
  •  Provide 2LoD oversight and challenge in conduct risk identification, monitoring and mitigation by validating business and function conduct plans. 

Risk Management: 

  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks. 
  • Support the implementation of risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance 
  • Monitor compliance risk indicators and escalate issues as needed. 

Training & Development: 

  • Develop and deliver EBKL compliance training programs for employees at all levels. 
  • Create educational materials on Conduct risk, regulatory compliance and ABC practices. 

Reporting: 

  • Prepare regular reports for EBKL senior management on compliance and ABC activities. 
  • Track and report on EBKL key compliance metrics and performance indicators. 

Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and operations teams, to ensure cohesive compliance efforts. 
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulators when required

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or any business-related field. 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in compliance, with knowledge on how to manage anti-bribery & corruption and Conduct risk. 
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly in regulatory compliance and ABC. 
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Regulatory Manager (CRCM), or equivalent are added advantage. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in law is an added advantage.
