- Manage the formulation, management, and execution of Airline’s Corporate Strategy, Business and Subsidiary Strategies
- Investigate and evaluate new revenue lines through market research, customer analysis, and trend identification.
- Collaborate with airline heads of departments and business functions to cascade the Strategy and ensure alignment at all levels.
- Investigate and evaluate market size, competitor accomplishments and industry structures and make recommendations for the EXCO and senior management for appropriate competitive responses or actions to be taken
- Undertake a market scan at a local, regional, and global level for appropriate and relevant strategic partnerships, new business models, complementary revenue opportunities and new growth drivers for the airline.
- Manage the integration of strategic initiatives into budgets and business plans at a business unit level and strategic level.
- Develop and manage strategy dashboards for performance KPIs and progress of strategic initiatives to ensure ongoing assessments and reassessment of primary strategic drivers.
- Drive internal research and innovation capabilities for the strategy unit and the airline business units.
- Drives forward top-priority strategic initiatives that span across the company and our partners, bringing alignment around corporate strategies, maintaining clear communication across teams, and ensuring cross-functional actions are completed
- Leads a team to identify and quantify revenue opportunities through in-depth analysis of market and airline data.
- Develops and recommends practical revenue management solutions, taking a strong leadership role in a wide variety of revenue initiatives and collaborating with other departments, including Pricing, Yield Management, Network Planning, Sales, Finance, and Marketing.
- Partners with various teams, including Network Planning, Revenue Management, Revenue Analysis, Regional Planning, Financial Planning, and Crew Planning, among other internal stakeholders, to ensure delivery of inputs necessary for the production and dissemination of company forecasts
- Leads forecasting and planning initiatives regarding Uganda Airlines strategic resources (fleet, infrastructure, partnerships, etc.)
- Identify and prioritise strategic transformation opportunities, collaborating with various departments for seamless execution
Education
- A master’s degree in economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Engineering, economic policy or any other related business and quantitative disciplines
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Statistics, Business Administration or Engineering and any other related field.
Experience and specification
- A minimum of 8 years of work experience with at least 3 years of proven experience leading Strategy and corporate Performance at a senior level in a large organisation.
- 3-4 years of senior management experience
- At least 5 years of economic/commercial modelling and business planning
- At least 3 years’ experience in implementing and managing strategic initiatives across business units
- Age bracket of 30-45 years
- Proven experience in implementing and deploying robust strategy development frameworks and models for dynamic corporate organisations.
- Proven experience in corporate performance reporting
- Self-directed, proactive and delivery-oriented – managing and consistently delivering quality output within agreed deadlines and taking the initiative to lead where needed
