Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and co-ordinate production related goals
- Ensure production stays on schedule
- Assure products meet quality standards
- Formulate production reports
- Analyse production data and optimise for efficiency
- Direct an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials
- Improve and maximise production processes
- Ensure workers and equipment meet performance and safety requirements
- Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks
- Manage the workflow for all production projects
- Hire, train and assess the performance of workers
- Support workers as questions, concerns or feedback arises
- Supervise staff and delegate tasks to employees
- Communicate with other departments, such as the Finance department to establish budgets, Human Resources department to hire new workers or the logistics department to ensure the delivery of products
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Wood Technology
- Degree in Production Engineering/B-Tech in Wood Technology
- Master’s Degree in Business Studies an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience
