- Assist the Chief Mechanic with all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair
- Assist in the monitoring of generator fuel levels, oil changes and regular generator maintenance and repairs as required
- Assist the Chief Mechanic with the sourcing and purchasing of broken/spare parts.
- Assist with other aspects of general maintenance and repair of AWC property and AWC Team House
- Report any safety issues and matters requiring attention to the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor.
- Keep the Mechanic’s areas/garage clean at all times.
- Any other duties as requested by the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor or the Management
- Drive vehicles with total awareness and safety, avoiding any damage to AWC vehicles and collisions with pedestrians. other vehicles, and property
- Be available at all times to drive AWC vehicles when required
- Assist in the monitoring of vehicle fuel levels, oil changes and minor maintenance as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of vehicles, inside and out.
- Report any safety issues, accidents, or maintenance requirements promptly to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Must be willing to take screening teams to remote areas of Sierra Leone.
Personnel Specifications Required
Essential
- Intermediate mechanical skills /experience
- Valid drivers’ license
- Good attitude, willingness to work hard and to learn
- Strong attention to detail
- At least one year experience in similar role
- Able to communicate effectively in both Krio and English
