The mechanical technician is responsible for the designing, engineering, and field start-up and
ensure reliable plant operation. S/he must have proven troubleshooting skills and work in a fast-paced
environment.
OVERALL DUTY
Plan, strategize and implement the preventive and corrective programs agreed upon with technical
and maintenance management. Required to maintain machinery, equipment, and infrastructure in
the required conditions to assure product quality and timely operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Carry out Preventive Maintenance Program on factory machines and record all maintenance
activities/details of all jobs carried out including parts replacement.
• Troubleshoot and correct mechanical issue for smooth operation of processing line and utilities.
• Perform daily routine checks as required.This shall include power generators, boilers, pasteurizers, fuel metering systems, etc.
• Provide proactive feedback/information on technical issues that require special attention.
• Support and ensure the implementation of the energy management system.
• Support the implementation of the maintenance software, feeding information on equipment, and recording activities to ensure plant reliability.
• Accurate records and documentation of all checks and observations.
• Support on projects and new installations
• Support continuous improvement activities, such as reducing negative environmental impact, and process automation/optimization
JOB REQUIREMENT
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
Minimum HND Mechanical Engineering (Plant Option) or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
• Basic experience in a HACCP implemented environment.
• Experience in drafting and establishing SOPs, plans, checklists and reviewing trends for decision
making.
• Conversance with cold room, water chillers, air compressors, split air conditioners, boilers, and
RO systems
COMPETENCE AND SKILLS
• Computer literate (Microsoft word, excel, power point)
• Conceptual technical and system design skills
• Knowledge and experience in SCADA system
• Experience in Pneumatic Control System automated machinery
