Kenya Forest Service is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation and Management Act no 34 of 2016 (henceforth referred to as the Act). The Act which was operationalized on 31st March 2017, gave the Service’s mandate as “to provide for the development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected purposes”.
Entry Requirements :
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) from a recognized training institution
- Served in the grade of Instructor II/lab technician II for at least three (3) years or an equivalent grade in any relevant institution
- Proficiency in Computer applications
- Fulfils requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

- Knowledge of generic and trade names of commonly prescribed medications.

An officer at this level shall report to a senior officer
Duties & responsibilities
- Perform routine tests in the college clinic laboratory
- Help the medical personnel diagnose and treat disease
- Perform laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and blood counts
- Make chemical and biological analyses of cells, tissue, blood, or other body specimens
- Prepare samples of body tissue
- Performing technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology.
- Reporting test results following clinic protocols alerting providers and/or nurses about abnormal results
- Ensuring quality control in collecting specimens, ensure appropriate sampling and maintain accurate record keeping.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies (Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment).
- Complying with all laboratory policies and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control.
