Alanyi HC IV, under the management of St. John XXIII Hospital Aber, is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Officer to provide comprehensive healthcare services. The Medical Officer will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing illnesses while ensuring high-quality patient care. This role requires a dedicated professional who can work effectively in a rural healthcare setting with limited resources.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
- Perform ward rounds and ensure appropriate medical interventions.
- Provide emergency medical care, including first aid and minor surgical procedures.
- Oversee and coordinate maternal and child health services at the facility.
- Participate in disease prevention and health education programs for the community.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, including nurses, midwives, and support staff, to deliver integrated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Ensure compliance with medical protocols and ethical standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior healthcare workers and students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
- Registered and licensed with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council.
- At least 2 years of post-internship experience in a reputable health facility.
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a rural healthcare setting is an added advantage.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and in a resource-limited environment.
