Machakos County, nicknamed ‘Macha,’ was the first capital city of Kenya and is now an administrative county in Kenya. Machakos is made up of eight (8) constituencies including Machakos Town, Mavoko, Masinga, Yatta, Kangundo, Kathiani, Matungulu, and Mwala. Machakos Town is the administrative capital of the County.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performing complex and advanced clinical patient management in area of specialization
- Coordinating training, coaching, and mentoring of health personnel
- Managing health stores including essential medicines and/ or plant and equipment
- Managing larger facilities/ hospitals
- Developing medical standards operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols
- Coordinating emergency response and clinical care
- Coordinating health projects and programs
- Managing health information systems
- Carrying out health surveys and research
- Monitoring the provision of forensic and medical legal services
- Give medical education, explain tests and procedures to the patients.
- Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Work programs.
- Perform medical and Surgical operations.
Requirements for appointment
- Have at least eighteen (18) years of experience five (5) of which should be in public service.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B. Ch. B) degree from a recognized university
- Masters degree in Medical oncology or any equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
- Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board:
- Valid practicing license.
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
