- In order to facilitate overall management and compliance with the provisions of the mining Regulations 207.
- To manage the day to day operational of activities within your designated area of responsibility to ensure compliance to company guidelines related to safety, honesty, and integrity, commitment to continue improvement to achieve better efficiency, thereby meeting the standard of safety, cost control and production.
- To plan, direct or coordinate the Quarry activities and supervise the production, grouting and Drilling section staff
- To plan and monitor mining projects in line with the business objective
Specific Job Responsibility:
In this capacity you will be responsible for the day to day management and operation of activities by overseeing the responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor within your designated area of responsibility by enforcing discipline as stipulated below.
Lead the Quarry operation teams to ensure compliance to production, cost, efficiency, safety and environment
Ensure minimization of equipment damage
Ensure achievement of KPIs
Ensure that the tires are running on good supported haul roads surfaces to minimize wear and tear
Short, Medium and Long term Planning of the Quarry operations
Carry out monthly drilled meters and Mined volume reconciliation with the drilling contractors on site
Provide timely plans to the production, Drill and blast teams
Ensure that the distribution of monthly & weekly plans to the Supervisors and business partners is done, with the emphasis on them understanding and executing them correctly
Understand mine plans, drilling and blasting, pit dewatering, proper clean up, maintenance of bench width, no damage to ultimate slopes and stabilizing methods
Direct mining activities
Perform any other duties assigned by the Superintendent.
Ensure that the production strategies are effectively and efficiently implemented and in line with the orgnisational goals
Effectively contribute to team performance and achievement of production targets

Experience & Qualification:
- Grade 12
- Valid Zambian Blasting.
- Valid light vehicle driver’s license with at least 2 years’ experience.
- 1st Aid Certification
- Mining Degree
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia(EIZ) and Engineering Registration Board (ERB)
- The Mining Engineer- Quarry will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:
- Excellent skills on how to carry out disciplinary procedures
- Accident / Incident Investigation expertise
- Excellent Administration and Management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office
- Knowledge of Surpac, Deswik and Short Plus Mining Software
- Excellent organizational and report writing skills
- At least 5 years’ experience in the same or similar position (preferably in the mining industry )
- Knowledge in basic health and safety and first aid
