Duties and Responsibilities
Affirmative Procurement
- Development of a detailed advocacy campaign strategy targeting relevant government institutions to secure the approval of the affirmative procurement policy.
- Coordinating and executing at least five advocacy visits to key government institutions and officials, including the executive governor, commissioners, and private sector, to present and discuss the policy’s benefits.
- in collaboration with UN Women, create and disseminate advocacy materials, including briefing documents, policy briefs, and presentations, to support the campaign.
- Engagement and mobilization of coalition members and other stakeholders to support the advocacy efforts.
- Domestication of National Policy on Women Economic Empowerment and Action Plan
- In collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, participate in and influence through advocacy a comprehensive strategy to promote the domestication of the National Policy on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Action Plan in Lagos State.
- Organization and facilitation of a minimum of three advocacy visits to relevant government institutions to advocate for policy domestication.
- Active engagement with coalition members, stakeholders, and allies to bolster support and participation in the campaign.
- Development of Care Policy in Lagos
- Development of a detailed advocacy campaign strategy targeting relevant government institutions to secure commitment to care policy.
- Coordinating and executing at least three advocacy visits to key government institutions and officials, including the executive governor, commissioners, and private sector, to present and discuss the care policy benefits
- Unstreotype Alliance and WEPs
- Support the increased membership drive of the Unsterotype Alliance Nigeria Chapter.
- Advocacy with private sector organization to sign up to the WEPs and Unsterotype alliance
- Implementation Reports
- Monthly progress reports provide detailed accounts of activities undertaken, milestones achieved, challenges encountered, and adjustments to advocacy strategies.
- A comprehensive final summary report at the end of the consultancy period, summarizing all deliverables, key findings, and actionable recommendations for sustaining the initiatives beyond the consultancy.

Required Skills and Experience
Education and Certification:
- A degree in Development studies, international relations, administration, human resource management, public policy, or other social science fields is required.
Experience:
- At least 4 years of solid, relevant professional experience in managing Women’s coalitions or women’s movements. – 30 points
- Proven track record of successfully managing multi-stakeholder initiatives, particularly in the non-profit or women’s advocacy sectors. – 30 points
- Experience leading and motivating teams, fostering collaboration among diverse groups, and driving strategic initiatives. – 20 points
- Experience in advocacy and policy influence related to women’s economic empowerment and overall gender equality—10 points.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with various stakeholders, including government bodies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community-based organisations (CBOs), and international agencies. – 5 points
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. – 5 points
