Responsibilities
- To make sure that the News is factual
- To make sure that the News reflects the nature of the radio station policy and is timely delivered
- To edit news articles to ensure accuracy, clarity and adherence to journalistic standards.
- Keeping up with current events and trends to incorporate relevant content into programs
- Responsible for the newsroom and supervising a team of reporters
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a full Grade Twelve Certificate
- Diploma in Broadcasting, Journalism and Radio Production. Degree in Journalism will be an added advantage.
- Paid up member of Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA).
- Computer Literate, proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- At least Three (3) years of Journalism and radio production and administrative experience
SKILLS & COMPETENCES
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Good understanding of standard operating procedures for broadcasting
- Skills in audio editing, recording, and mixing is often necessary.
- Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to help promote media ethics in our reporting
- Ability to keep a backup of all News read both voice back up and soft copy
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and under pressure
