- Ensure quality nursing training through identifying and/or creating curriculum in partnership with ETA ship-based nurses and external partners.
- Ensure all nursing training projects are context specific and align with the education and health system strengthening goals for each partner country.
- Collaborate with host nation universities and teaching institutions to identify and develop partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate well with stakeholders, both within Mercy Ships and externally in African countries.
- Utilize simulation technology to create appropriate training programs for host nation nurses and nursing students.
- Create and facilitate a network of nurses and nursing leaders within a country and across Mercy Ships partner countries.
- Determine supplies and equipment needed for all ETA nursing education and training projects.
- Identify, plan, and collaborate with other nursing organizations for partnership opportunities, such as trainings, equipment donations, etc.
- Maintains records and performs evaluations as necessary, of all training projects and donations, as directed by the Senior Director of Education, Training, and Advocacy, and Senior Program Design Director.
- Document processes related to program delivery to increase effectiveness of future programs.
- Collaborate well with other International Programs departments and colleagues to ensure alignment.
- Provide support for assessment, baseline assessment, and research, coordinating with the Monitoring and Evaluation Team, Program Design, and Country Engagement Team.
- Prepare internal and final reports on projects in conjunction with the Senior Director of Education, Training, and Advocacy, and Programs Design/MELD in a timely manner.
- Represent Mercy Ships at nursing conferences and assist with recruiting for ETA nursing roles.
- Attend and participate in all devotions, receptions and ETA functions as required.
- Write blogs for public platforms describing ETA programs to help share/publicize the work of ETA.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.
- Current active nursing license, equivalent to RN or higher level
- Nursing degree, equivalent to BScN or higher level
- At least 5 years of relevant nursing experience including recent work experience in perioperative and/or operating room nursing.
- Specialty certification in Perioperative Nursing an asset
- Experience working and/or training in healthcare in resource-limited settings required
- Experience in education, curriculum design and development, simulation preferred
- Successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding will be required within the first year
