St. John XXIII Hospital Aber is seeking a highly skilled and dedicate Obstetrician/Gynaecologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care related to pregnancy, childbirth, and female reproductive health. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating diseases affecting the female reproductive system, performing surgical procedures when necessary, and offering general medical care to women.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Medical History: Collect, record, and maintain patient information, including medical histories, reports, and examination results.
- Prenatal, Natal & Postnatal Care: Provide care and treatment to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
- Treatment & Diagnosis: Diagnose and treat diseases of female reproductive organs and chronic conditions.
- Prescriptions & Therapy: Administer medications, prescribe treatments, and provide specialized medical care.
- Surgical Procedures: Perform cesarean sections and other necessary surgeries to ensure safe delivery and patient well-being.
- Medical Analysis: Evaluate test results, medical reports, and examination data for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Patient Consultation & Health Education: Explain medical procedures, test results, and treatments to patients while providing advice on health, diet, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Monitoring & Follow-Up: Continuously assess patient conditions and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Referrals & Collaboration: Refer patients to specialists when needed and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
- Supervision & Coordination: Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, and other medical staff.
- Research & Reporting: Conduct research to enhance medical knowledge and prepare reports on birth, death, and disease statistics.
Qualifications
- Education: Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Licensing: Must be registered and licensed with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
