Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
The Officer: Category will play a crucial role in driving the success of our Ecommerce platform by managing a portfolio of categories. They will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, optimizing product assortments, and enhganancing the overall customer experience to maximize sales and profitability.
Responsibilities
Category Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for your assigned portfolio of categories, aligned with the company’s overall business goals and market-specific requirements.
Assortment Management:
- Curate and manage the product assortment within your categories, ensuring it meets customer needs, market trends, and competitive positioning.
Market Analysis:
- Conduct regular market analysis and competitor benchmarking to identify opportunities and threats, adjusting category strategies accordingly.
Pricing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with pricing and marketing teams to set competitive pricing strategies and promotional campaigns that drive category growth and profitability.
Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions to secure a reliable supply chain.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations while ensuring efficient inventory turnover.
Customer Experience:
- Work closely with the user experience (UX) and customer service teams to enhance the overall customer experience within your categories, including product content, navigation, and customer support.
Data Analysis:
- Utilize data analytics tools and insights to make informed decisions, track category performance, and identify areas for improvement.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, logistics, and technology, to drive category growth and improve processes.
Market Expansion:
Explore opportunities to expand your category portfolio into new markets, understanding and adapting to local customer preferences and market dynamics.
Qualifications
Education:
- 4-year Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain (or related) Degree
- Master’s in business administration is advantageous
Experience:
- 3 or more years of relevant work experience with a non-traditional FinTech or E-commerce company
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in E-commerce Category & Product Management
- Experience in E-Commerce Category Management role will be preferred
- Exposure to Product Management or Digital marketing roles will be a great plus
- Understanding emerging markets advantageous
