Job description

To perform day-to-day processing of service orders and contract requests and also assist their assigned Supervisor with any tasks as and when required

Key Responsibilities

This position will require one to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures, and legal regulations about health, safety, environment, and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

  • Process all labor-hire requests
  • Process all plant hire requests
  • Co-ordinate preparation of Scope of work with respective end users
  • Work closely with the Corporate Social Responsibility department to ensure that local businesses and the local community are afforded adequate opportunity to do business with Kansanshi Mining PLC, Solwezi.
  • Respond to Contractor and end-user inquiries regarding Service contracts
  • Float tenders and perform tender adjudication
  • Maintain physical and electronic contract archives
  • Run cost reduction exercises on contracted Services
  • Ensure contractors are compliant with statutory requirements
  • Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance.
  • Build strong, value-adding relationships with contractors, internal customers, and cross-functional departments.
  • Use the appropriate standard contract documents to prepare new contracts and contract amendments.
  • Attend contractual meetings and assist with coordination of negotiations on contract variations
  • Perform any other reasonable task as directed by the immediate Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Senior certificate or equivalent
  • Degree in any business-related degree
  • Member of ZIPS

Experience

  • At least 3 years of work experience in a related field
  • Must be able to work under pressure dealing with multiple tasks at once
  • Must have a good working knowledge of procurement and supply chain management
  • Must be able to keep up to date with statutory compliance requirements; a good knowledge of relevant legislation is key.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate an accounting package or enterprise resource planning software.
