Job description

  • Customer Engagement: By engaging customers courteously and professionally, you’ll build strong relationships and ensure their needs are met promptly and efficiently.

  • Efficient Repairs: Using specialized tools and following documented procedures, you’ll diagnose and complete less complex repairs, ensuring high-quality service.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Coaching customer employees on preventative maintenance and basic repairs will help them maintain their equipment better, reducing downtime.
  • Issue Escalation: By escalating unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors, you’ll ensure that complex problems are addressed promptly.
  • Accurate Documentation: Completing required documentation accurately, such as service worksheets and warranty claims, will help maintain clear records and support business operations.
  • Continuous Learning: Completing training in line with skill and business requirements will keep you updated on the latest techniques and tools, enhancing your effectiveness.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Keeping your work area and tools clean and in proper operation will ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhering to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reporting any issues will help maintain a safe workplace for everyone.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to translate customer complaints into troubleshooting plans, using specialized tools and software to isolate and repair failed components.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Service Tools: Knowledge of the hardware and software tools required for service events, and the ability to interpret their results to determine next steps.
  • Understanding of Engine Systems: Capability to analyze interactions of electrical and mechanical systems using tools and service publications to diagnose and repair efficiently.
  • Product Repair and Maintenance Expertise: Skills in repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products, following guidelines to ensure quality repairs and minimize customer costs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience

  • Apprentice Certified Power Generation or Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Current relevant electrical certification (optional)
  • Locally valid driving permit
  • Basic level field service work experience
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation or engine products
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience (optional)
  • Customer service experience
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
