Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
CO OIM, operational & performance reporting
- Ensure all CO reports demonstrate CO’s operational performance through daily, weekly and monthly reports. This responsibility will include working with M&E, COMET, programme and other relevant units to set up data readiness structures that will contribute to production of various operational reports in the CO.
- Support reporting activities, establish and present a standard operating picture of WFP programme portfolio and associated results that facilitate informed and timely decision-making at all levels throughout the Country Office.
- Strengthen reporting structures and processes in South Sudan for effective and timely reporting.
- Maintain and update the existing operational information management & performance reporting systems to drive the quality, consistency, standardization of information management and performance reporting.
- Prepare various reports, briefing materials, and operational reports for South Sudan to effectively demonstrate CO’s progress, achievements and enhance WFPs accountability to donors.
- Collaborate with various South Sudan CO technical teams/activity managers and provide technical guidance on corporate reporting standards and processes.
- Maintain a CO reports tracking system/tool/matrix to monitor the status of all corporate South Sudan CO reports and appraise the CO management on the reporting status and other OIM products.
Programme unit OIM
- Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reports, information products, and presentations on programmed activities that ensure consistency of information presented to stakeholders and enable informed decision making
- Draft advocacy documents for internal and external use.
- Liaise with internal and external counterparts to ensure effective collaboration and consistency of information, monitor progress, and complement WFP analysis and information.
- Establish database repository for programme data and information. Implement initiatives to facilitate information flow from programme units to other units.
- Collate, analyze, and disseminate operational information and data to facilitate and maximize the exchange of information and data flow between teams.
- Draft a monthly analysis of achieved versus planned figures. Support the capacity building of WFP staff around reporting, information management processes, tools, systems, and analysis.
- Any other duties assigned to ensure programme unit remains compliant with WFP policies and procedures.
- STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Advanced University degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
Experience: Typically three years or more of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Specialised knowledge of information management best practices, techniques and processes with some understanding of the basic theoretical background.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including substantive analysis and report writing skills.
• Able to supervise and support more junior and/or less experienced members of the team.
• Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly assimilate, UN/WFP specific processes and systems. Language: International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese (a WFP working language). National Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language and the duty station’s language, if different.
