Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The company has its main office and operations in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and a supporting office in Dar es Salaam. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To ensure that mining equipment is adequately fueled on time, safely, and without causing any production delays related to fuel.

            QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Secondary education or above.
  • The incumbent must have a valid Tanzania driving license class “E”.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience and above in driving heavy duty vehicle (HDV) especially in mining industry.
  • Experience in driving Benz trucks especially Actros will be an added advantage.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To ensure that mining equipment’s is refueled on time safely and production has no delays related to fuel.
  • Ensure safe working procedures are always following for all refueling operations.
  • Drive to the road and weather conditions.
  • Do the pre-shift inspection and the post shift walk around and make sure all defects are recorded and reported to Lt Workshop for repairs.
  • Keep the interior of the cab and the outside of the fuel bowser clean, in good order and neat.
  • Be punctual when reporting for duty.
  • Refill the fuel truck at scheduled times.
  • Refuel equipment as per the scheduled provided by the Senior Supervisor.
  • React to instructions promptly, especially if it concerns equipment has run out of fuel.
  • Always fill to full, except lighting plants which have a predetermined amount.
  • Follow the schedule and any changes as instructed by the senior supervisor.
  • Eliminate the fuel loss.
  • Report any sign or indication of fuel theft immediately.
  • Ensure correct behavior at work and good attendance.

            ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sound knowledge on health, Safety and Environmental issues and procedures.
  • He / She must be physical and mentally fit and hard working.
  • Able to work with minimum Supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrate good commitment to deliver.
  • Able to show initiative and coordination skills.
  • Able to operate and understand the fuel operation of fuel bowser and refueling equipment.
