The organisation works closely with communities, partners, and stakeholders to improve access to mental health services and strengthen community resilience.

Position Summary

Mindbus Uganda is seeking a passionate and experienced Outreach Officer to lead community engagement, awareness, and outreach activities. The role involves working closely with communities, partners, and donors to promote mental health programs, strengthen referral pathways, and ensure effective service delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement community outreach and awareness activities

  • Engage communities, beneficiaries, partners, and stakeholders to promote mental health services

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support programme implementation and service delivery

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, donors, and community leaders

  • Conduct community sensitization sessions and mobilization activities

  • Document outreach activities, community feedback, and success stories

  • Prepare activity reports and contribute to monitoring and evaluation processes

  • Support referrals and follow-up for beneficiaries accessing services

  • Ensure outreach activities comply with organisational policies and ethical standards

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field

  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in outreach, community engagement, or social services

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with teams, partners, and donors

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Fluency in English and Luganda; knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage

  • Ability to work independently and in diverse community settings

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
