3. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of program staff, ensuring a transparent and merit-based process.
- Manage employee contracts, benefits, and compensation structures in compliance with regulatory standards
- Support career development and succession planning for key roles within the program.
- Establish and oversee a robust performance management system, including goal setting, appraisals, and feedback mechanisms.
- Design and implement staff capacity-building initiatives, including training programs and leadership development.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth among staff
- Address performance-related challenges and support managers in handling employee relations matters
- Develop and implement employee engagement strategies to enhance motivation, productivity, and retention
- Support initiatives that enhance teamwork, innovation, and staff satisfaction within the program
- Ensure adherence to HR legal requirements, organizational policies, and ethical labour practices
- Conduct regular HR audits to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring data security and compliance
4. Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- A master’s degree would be an added advantage
- At least (6) six years of progressive experience in HR management, preferably within the development sector
- Strong knowledge of Uganda’s labour laws, HR policies, and best practices
- Experience in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations
- Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that promote inclusion, diversity, and staff well-being
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
