Position Summary
PPDR is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advocacy Officer to design, implement, and coordinate advocacy initiatives aimed at promoting refugee rights, protection, and access to services. The role will involve stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, documentation of protection concerns, and representation of refugee interests at various forums.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and monitor advocacy strategies aligned with PPDR’s mission and objectives

Identify, document, and analyze refugee protection concerns, rights violations, and policy gaps

Engage government institutions, UN agencies, civil society organizations, and community leaders on refugee issues

Support community-based advocacy and empower refugees to participate in advocacy initiatives

Prepare advocacy briefs, position papers, reports, and case studies

Represent PPDR in coordination meetings, networks, and advocacy forums

Work closely with programme and MEAL teams to ensure evidence-based advocacy

Promote accountability, inclusion, and protection principles in all advocacy activities
Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Law, Human Rights, Social Sciences, or a related field

Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in advocacy, protection, or human rights work

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
-
Proven ability to write clear reports, advocacy briefs, and policy documents
-
Experience working with refugees or in humanitarian and protection settings is a strong advantage
-
High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to human rights
