Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions, ensuring understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with pharmacologist, pharmacy ass, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.
- Monitor medication therapy for efficacy and safety, making recommendations for adjustments or changes as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication profiles, allergies, and medical history.
- Manage inventory levels and medication stock, ensuring adequate supply and proper storage conditions.
- Conduct medication reviews and consultations with patients to identify and address medication-related issues, such as adherence or therapy optimization.
- Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards of care.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from a recognized institution.
- Additional advantage: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree.
- Registered and licensed to practice pharmacy in Nigeria, with a valid pharmacist practicing license.
- Completion of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Pharmacist in a retail pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, pharmacology, and drug therapy principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively counsel and educate patients.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications and maintaining records.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
