Brief description of duties and responsibility of the job

  • Medication Dispensing: Accurately review and dispense medications, ensuring proper storage and handling.
  • Clinical Pharmacy Services: Conduct consultations to assess medication regimens, detect drug interactions, and provide recommendations for treatment adjustments.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on correct medication usage, side effects, and follow-up care.
  • Medication Therapy Management: Monitor patient outcomes, adjust medications as needed, and support adherence to treatment plans.
  • Drug Formulary Management: Update the hospital’s approved medication list and ensure availability for medical staff.
  • Compounding & Preparation: Prepare specialized medications (e.g., intravenous) as required, ensuring safety standards.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and adjust medications.
  • Patient Safety: Monitor for adverse reactions, report errors, and contribute to safety initiatives like infection control.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee medication supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and medications are stored properly.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to laws and regulations, including those for controlled substances.
  • Clinical Research & Education: Participate in research studies and provide educational sessions for staff or students.

Required Skills:

  • Pharm.D. degree and licensure are required, with specialized certifications being a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and therapeutic management.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
