Job description

The Kilimani Children’s Clinic opened its doors to the public in November 2018.. Since then we have experienced a steady growth thanks to our dedicated team of consultant paediatricians, nurses and other health professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the pharmacy processes as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Quantify and order medication as outlined in the Ordering SOP.
  • Receive and ensure updating of new stock in the system following the required process.
  • Responsible for communication by email with Pharmacist/Pharmaceutical Technologist In-Charge and/or Medical Director in relation to Pharmacy concerns.
  • Issue weekly and monthly reports to the Pharmacist/Pharmaceutical Technologist In-Charge.
  • Ensure there is proper entry of information in the narcotic drugs register and proper filing of prescriptions on the same.
  • Enforce the dispensing process in the pharmacy as per the SOP.
  • Ensure proper filing of various documents in the pharmacy.
  • Review of delivery notes to ensure validation of the receipt of stock.
  • Ensure retrieval of expiring items every last week of the month; prepare an expired items list and forward to the Pharmacist/Pharmaceutical Technologist In-Charge within the first week of the month. A report of the same to be sent to the Medical Director/Administrator.
  • Carry out inter branch stock transfer following the defined process.
  • Ensure the temperature logs are duly updated and temperature excursions are managed accordingly.
  • Ensure the customers are handled with utmost respect and within the shortest time possible.
  • Participate in inventory management and stock take to ensure the set parameters are achieved.
  • Participate in Hospital meetings, communicate, identify problems and agree on solutions.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the head of clinical

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical technologist.
  • Registered by the Pharmacy and Poisons board of Kenya.
  • Valid annual practice license.
  • Two (2) years’ working experience.
  • Proficiency in computer application packages.
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills are required together with proven leadership capabilities.
  • Proactive team player with strong customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
