Job description

The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medication according to the prescriptions to ensure safe and effective patient care. This will include collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide clinical expertise on drug therapy and patient safety.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dispense and record prescriptions and ensure that the billing team collect specified charges.
  • Keep dispensary stocked and maintain efficient stock control of both medicines and
  • Checking and dispensing medication as per
  • Ordering stock, checking and accepting deliveries and updating the stock control system.
  • Receive, record and dispense repeat medication
  • Answering telephone calls and passing on messages as
  • Dealing with problems and

  • Keep dispensary stocked and maintain efficient stock control of both medicines and
  • Keep efficient
  • Fully observe legal requirements relevant to a dispensing practice, including MOH regulations and controlled drugs.
  • Know when to make a referral to a healthcare
  • Carrying out any administration as required such as Medical insurance claims, KPI collection data and end month prescription paperwork.
  • Being an active member of the pharmacy team that delivers and promotes professional services.
  • Preparing small scale or individual preparation of special ointments or creams and
  • Ensuring that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperature control record/logbook.
  • Clean work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and kept in good working order.
  • Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing
  • Undertaking other reasonable duties within the frame work of the post as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Take orders for repeats and deal with queries form nurses and support
  • Know the general principles of first aid and resuscitation to be able to undertake initial actions as appropriate.
