Duties and Responsibilities
Duties of Position: shall include the following:
Update and develop 10 – year Protected Area Management Plans (PAMPs),
Update and develop 5 – year Species Specific Plans (SSPs),Define, describe, delineate ecosystems/ produce zonation plans,
Develop and manage spatial data database,
Big data management (collection, collation, storage, manipulation and analysis)
Produce inventories of species,
Collaborate and engage with stakeholders,
Mobilize resources for producing PAMPs, SSPs, implementation, monitoring and evaluation exercises,
Prepare and produce monthly, quarterly, half year and annual reports, baseline survey reports, consultation reports, meeting minutes and any other reports
Craft and conduct monitoring and evaluation of various PAMPs,
Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder meetings/ workshops and events,
Produce annual work plans and budgets,
Any other duties as assigned by the Protected Area Planning Manager
Qualifications and Experience
First degree in Geoformation Science and Earth Observation, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management or related field of study,
Master’s degree holders in the above or related fields of study will have an added advantage,
Demonstrate ability to apply GIS/ RS tools in planning,
Ability to use Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT) and Integrated Management Effectiveness Tool (IMET), World Heritage Outlook in monitoring plan implementation
Strong social and scientific data collection skills
Good writing skills
Fluency in English
