Job description:

Purpose of the role

The Planning Specialist – Short Term Planning is responsible for developing and executing detailed daily and weekly work plans to optimize maintenance operations at Trident. The role focuses on ensuring the availability and reliability of equipment in the copper processing plant by coordinating resources, materials, and labor for planned maintenance activities.

Job & Candidate Requirements 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily and weekly maintenance work plans in alignment with operational priorities and available resources.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure work packs are prepared and all necessary resources are in place for execution.
  • Ensure timely coordination of parts, materials, and tools, minimizing delays in work execution.
  • Analyze work orders, ensuring that corrective work is planned and completed in line with priorities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of short-term maintenance planning through KPIs such as schedule adherence and work order completion rates.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in production, maintenance, and supply chain to ensure alignment and execution of maintenance activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance short-term planning effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance planning within a mining or heavy industry environment.
  • Proficiency in CMMS, preferably Pronto.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices and workflow processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skill
