Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Economics; or Business Administration; or Public Administration; or Management; or Commerce; or Entrepreneurship; or International Trade; or Micro-Finance; or Business Studies plus a Masters Degree in any of the above-mentioned fields from a recognized University / Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience; three (3) of which must have been served at the level of Senior Inspection and Licensing Officer in Government or an equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner – Inspection and Licensing for performing the following duties:-
– Monitoring inspection of products and commodities in the warehouse for defects and compliance to quality control measures;
– Coordinating inspection of equipment and components for compliance with the set standards;
– Developing inspection processes to guide inspection of warehouse activities and records;
– Monitoring and supervising collection of samples for quality compliance assessment;
– Providing technical guidance to warehouse operators on determination of appropriate tariffs;
– Recommending improvements to the warehouse practices so as to ensure quality control;
– Coordinating capacity building sessions for warehouse commodity handlers and fumigators;
– Reviewing applications for new and renewal of licenses;
– Coordinating sensitization of farmers/depositors and warehouse operators on post-harvest handling and the benefits of the Warehouse Receipt System;
-Coordinating warehouse profiling exercises with Local Governments;
– Preparing and submitting periodic reports;
– Supervising and appraising staff.
-Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
