To provide technical and operational support for the effective and efficient performance of the water management functions of the commission
• Provides inputs for the formulation of policies
• Supervises the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and activities of the Directorate
• Supervises the development, implementation and review of plans and guidelines for the utilization, conservation, development and the management of water resources.
• Supervises the development and update of a database on water resources.
• Provides inputs for the development of research proposals
• Supervises the conduct of aquatic ecological surveys
• Supervises the development, implementation of the laboratory of the commission
• Supervises the preparation of the annual work plans and budget of the directorate
• Supervises the preparation of the annual and other periodic reports of the Directorate
• Supervises and appraises the performance of subordinate staff
Qualification Required & Experience
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering and Management, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Water supply and environmental sanitation, chemistry or any other related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
• Membership of a relevant and recognised professional body would be an added advantage
• A minimum of 6 years of post Bachelor’s Degree relevant work experience in a reputable organisation
