HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Tanzania (Helvetas) is a Swiss INGO actively contributing to the improvement of the living conditions and status of economically poor and socially disadvantaged people in more than 35 developing countries. HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation (HELVETAS) is an international NGO also registered here in Tanzania. In its programme in Tanzania, HELVETAS is implementing development initiatives in the three thematic areas: Skill Development and Education (SDE), Voice Inclusion & Cohesion (VIC) and Sustainable & Inclusive Economies (SIE). HELVETAS Tanzania is receiving funding from the European Union for the implementation of its three years project named as ‘Uwezeshaji jamii katika Usimamizi Endelevu wa Misitu na Nishati mbadala (USEMINI)’ in rural district councils of Mvomero, Morogoro DC, Ulanga and Malinyi in Morogoro region. The project overall objective is to promote sustainable forest management and wood- fuel production in rural areas with an overall aim of enhancing environmental sustainability, in particular the sustainability of the wood-fuel value chain.
