To execute process engineering within CCBSA Projects through employing various engineering skills, technology applications, design & project management, innovation, capacity modelling and basic excel simulation.
Level of interaction within and outside of the company as well as the nature and purpose of the interaction
- With specific site based – engineering managers, quality managers, plant & packaging engineers, control & automation engineers & technicians, risk / safety officers whom in general are the customer in need process engineering & projects support.
- With specific site based – project engineers to collaborate in technical project scoping, design engineering, more specifically on the ground execution, projects & capital management. Each CCBSA site is allocated project engineering who are based at those sites or region.
- With Regional Engineering Managers (REM’s) who oversee several sights divided by region
- Capital Projects Manager & Head of Projects
- Projects Contractors
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Capacity Modelling & Simulation
- Ability to model processing and utilities requirements based on packaging line capacity increase / expansion
- Ability to size product storage vessels and quantity based on factory running rate, number of variants and product changeovers
- Ability to complete capacity studies and identification of bottlenecks
Process Engineering
- Strong Ability to design and size process engineering equipment and /or processes – CIP, mixing, blending, heating, pumping.
- Fair understanding of packaging lines: Blending and bottle filling, bottle rinsing.
- Basic Understanding of utilities – chilling, steam supply & reticulation, water header supply & distribution, chlorination of incoming municipal water.
- Fair understanding of water treatment applications to convert municipal water to processing or product water: Nano / RO, UF, Media Filtration, Carbon Filtration.
- Basic Understanding of Control & Automation – basic understanding of C&A infrastructure to control field devices, data log and software development & software FAT.
- Strong ability to read Process and Instrumentation diagram, conduct HAZOP, facilitate change management, project management / scheduling using Microsoft projects.
Skills, Experience & Education
- A minimum BSc Chemical Engineering – Degree
- At least 3 to 5 years in Chemical / Process Engineering experience, preferably within Food and Beverages industry. Experience in bottling an added advantage.
- Experience in Capital Projects
- Experience in capacity modelling & plant sizing an added advantage
- Tools: AutoCAD (P&ID), Excel, PowerPoint, Projects, Visio.
