Duties & Responsibilities
Assist Production Artisan with test on powders, such as ph, sediment and moisture.
Responsible for the evaporation of SMP, whey and buttermilk with extreme accuracy.
Weekly inspection on evaporators and MVR once a month.
Support to Process System Operators in resolving problems on separators and cream. Dispatch to Butter Factory.
Work closely with maintenance department and report defects via job cards.
Take action when deviation from standards occur.
Record all temperatures, product flows and pressures thereby ensuring no deviations.
Ensure standardized concentrated products are well cooled to specifications.
Cleaning and hygiene of workplace.
Analyse all daily production results to identified problem areas.
Ensure minimum waste in department.
Maintain communication structures and SGA.
Motivate subordinates.
Testing of chemical concentration on a daily basis.
Monitoring separation process on different machines, clarifier and milk separator, big and small.
Required Skills
Grade 12 or equivalent
NQF3 /Second year Occupational certificate/ Dairy Primary Processing certificate or equivalent
Supervisory certificate to be advantage
At least 3 years experiences in a food manufacturing environment
Must have sound knowledge of evaporators
At least 2 year’s experiences in a supervisory role
Computer literate
Good leadership skills
HACCP and ISO exposure
Excellent communication skills at all levels
Accuracy and punctuality essential
Ability to work and make decisions under pressure
Willing to work shifts, overtime, long hours, weekends and public holidays
Willing to work in an extremely environment conditions.
