Veteran Mission Hospital in Syokimau, Nairobi, is seeking a knowledgeable and strategic Procurement Manager to oversee our procurement activities and ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services necessary for our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that are aligned with the hospital’s goals and objectives.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality goods and services.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and best practices.
- Prepare and manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control.
- Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Oversee inventory management and maintain optimal stock levels to support hospital operations.
- Ensure the integrity of procurement records and documentation.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Analyze procurement data and generate reports to inform decision-making and improve procurement processes.
- Manage risk by identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Stay current with legal and regulatory changes impacting procurement practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement management, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
