Are you an experienced procurement professional looking to contribute to a vital healthcare institution? Veteran Mission Hospital in Syokimau, Nairobi, is seeking a knowledgeable and strategic Procurement Manager to oversee our procurement activities and ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services necessary for our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that are aligned with the hospital’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality goods and services.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong supplier relationships.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and best practices.
  • Prepare and manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control.
  • Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Oversee inventory management and maintain optimal stock levels to support hospital operations.
  • Ensure the integrity of procurement records and documentation.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Analyze procurement data and generate reports to inform decision-making and improve procurement processes.
  • Manage risk by identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Stay current with legal and regulatory changes impacting procurement practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement management, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards related to procurement
