We are currently seeking qualified Ugandan citizen to head our purchasing team at Lake Victoria Serena Resort whose responsibilities will be as outlined below:-
To oversee purchasing activities and ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality and services for the hotel as specified by the user departments at competitive terms and prices and in line with the Company procurement policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities of the position:
• Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
• Sourcing for; evaluating and vetting suppliers and prospective suppliers of approved goods and services and negotiating the best and most cost-effective prices
• Ensuring that suppliers comply with all Company Supplier Registration requirements
• Ensuring product quality and specifications are communicated to the suppliers and adhered to.
• Assist the Unit Accountant in preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
• Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
• Managing and processing of orders while maintaining accurate pricing,
• Maintaining purchase and delivery records.
• Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
• Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
• Preparing procurement reports
• Provide information on pricing levels and carry out market surveys to guide purchasing decisions and budgeting
Job Requirements:
Qualification:
• Minimum Diploma in Procurement & Supplies Management or its equivalent
• CPA qualification with Procurement and Supplies experience will be an added advantage
Experience:
• Two (2) years’ experience in procurement and supplies management.
• Supervisory and management experience.
Attributes:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software (Materials’ control).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good analytical and organizational and planning skills.
• Attention to detail.
