Outputs:

Strategy Development and Implementation

Output

  • Plan, manage, lead, and direct business focus on all the digital banking platforms (SHM, Internet banking and the mobile App).
  • Build Product policies to support growth of the product portfolio
  • Undertake market research for all new products introduced to ensure product features match customer needs
  • Identify suitable products/services for target segments and customers and develop them for implementation.
  • Review digital, partnerships and new business strategic action plans and be accountable to measure performance of new and established partnerships.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to secure development support, appropriate systems prioritisation and to develop testing plans.
  • Execute long-term strategy around driving customer awareness, engagement, experience, and commercialization.
  • Help to transform and drive the growth of the organization as it evolves digitally.
  • Ensure effective product launches ensuring all aspects are managed by the relevant specialist areas including marketing communications, training, systems and operations availability and contingency.
  • Anticipate global trends and identify probable impacts on the business and provide direction and solutions for the organization.
  • Support in forecasting product demand volumes & monitoring that demand.
  • Pricing optimization – and ensuring there are no income leakages
  • Track and analyze performance of products against a monthly annual basis and propose remedial actions on shortfalls.
  • Lead the drive in our endeavor to be innovative, cost effective and profitable in delivery by developing and delivering fit for purpose alternative channel offerings.
  • Monitor Service Level Agreements (internal and external) and relevant KPIs.
  • Achieve operational rigour excellence in all aspects of procedures and processes and ensure proper controls are undertaken to ensure green audit.

Delivery of Product Development

Output

  • Maximise efficiencies in the business to deliver enhanced products and services to customers at a profitable cost.
  • Review and monitor competitor product offerings with a view to ensuring Absa digital payment products have a competitive edge.
  • Repackage existing product range in line with changing customer needs
  • Evaluate, plan, optimise & deliver product design enhancements taking end-to-end responsibility for the quality of service that is delivered to customers across the product set.
  • Devise and maintain effective stakeholder management plans through a network of external alliances within the organisation, overall, online and telecom’s industry and various other business partners to optimise the delivery and operation of the digital and alternative channel value chain in line with strategy and acceptable standards.
  • Periodically review Product Specifications to be consistent with Business Strategy.  Recommend any changes required to meet target customer segments’ expectations and ensure compliance with Bank policies and guidelines. Ensure that the legal and contingency requirements of the product set are established

Output:

  • Contribute to the improvement of service delivery by sharing the impact of both global and local competitors; technology, increased customer demands, increased regulatory oversight in the business.
  • Champion the required cultural change in the business and emphasise appropriate ways of working with stakeholders across Absa and the industry and further advocate good customer experience and retention, sales performance, and operational disciplines.
  • Develop strategies to drive Portfolio initiatives to grow book size.
  • Liaise with marketing and other key divisions to complement marketing effort.

  • Support the Commercial team & Sales teams (e.g., Sales Managers, LGs, and RMs)

Outputs:

  • Achieve operational rigour excellence in all aspects of procedures and processes undertaken to ensure a satisfactory audit.
  • Ensure compliance with operational risk & rigour requirements e.g., Health and Safety standards, security of premises etc.
  • Comply with relevant legislation e.g., KYC, banking code service standards, fraud prevention and money laundering procedures
  • Raise reports on all risk events that occur

Education and Experience Required

  • Degree Graduate
  • Great working knowledge of the Retail and business banking pricing models
  • At least 2 years of detailed knowledge of Absa digital banking and policies

Knowledge & Skills: (Maximum of 6)

  • A comprehensive knowledge of Absa products and systems that support them, and a good understanding of Absa Group products.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of Absa Africa digital banking offering.
  • A detailed understanding of product offerings in the wider financial services industry.
  • A detailed knowledge of Absa Africa strategy and policies.
  • A detailed knowledge of the RBB pricing models and the revenue lines
  • A detailed knowledge of the Digital Payments Industry.
  • Detailed knowledge of consumer buying behaviour, marketing techniques and evolving trends.
  • An understanding of customer segmentation theory and practice.
  • A detailed understanding of industry, advisory, regulatory, and professional bodies
  • A good understanding of legislation related to financial services and channel delivery.
  • A good knowledge of constructing reports, executive summaries, and briefs.
