To provide direction, technical guidance, and leadership in production to ensure the highest quality products. Partner with finance to develop production budget and ensure production is managed within budget. Lead and embed the “Kilombero way in production” to ensure Kilombero is the best in class ethanol producer and achieves cost synergies. Optimize production performance, by holding teams accountable to achieve the highest standards of efficiencies and quality, maximising throughput and ENA recovery at lowest cost Achieve production targets aligned to the production plan. Lead and manage shift teams effectively.Specific

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of manufacturing plans, goals and KPI’s where required.
• Oversee operations and production planning (S&OP) to ensure efficiency, quality control, budgetary control, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
• Drive rigorous performance management, biased towards rewarding strong performance and compliance with critical behaviours, and including managing consequences where required.
• Plan site Raw Material requirements and oversee timeous supply of these raw material requirements.
• Together with the teams, achieve shift, daily, weekly, monthly performance targets against business/operational goals and objectives by ensuring that tasks are prioritised and planned in a logical, systematic and cost effective way to optimise profitability.
• Report on performance in line with KPIs as well as key adverse or positive developments to Distillery Manager.
• Ensure compliance with group minimum standards and processes for Production, ensuring products are within specification across each step of value chain.
• Identify loss/waste/barriers to flow areas and prioritise weekly activities to address these..
• Promote and adhere to Kilombero procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to Safety, Healthy, Environment, Risk and Quality (SHERQ), Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

Job requirements:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology  or Production Management (preferred)
• 3 years’ experience in Distillery and a sound knowledge of the factories.
• Good business acumen and manufacturing expertise, with ability to anticipate, interpret and respond to changes impacting on functional area.
• Management and leadership skills to be able to run a shift.
• Leadership capabilities to ensure a cohesive team.
• Computer literacy.
• Reporting writing skills.
• Creative, innovative and team working skills.

Terms of service: The successful candidate will be engaged on Permanent contract.
