Responsibilities

Project development P&R’s displacement and humanitarian portfolios 50%

● Mapping stakeholders in P&R’s priority project development sectors

● Liaising with implementers and researchers working on displacement and humanitarian issues

● Liaising with IPA Country Offices, researchers, and implementing organizations in order to support them in project development efforts related to displacement and

humanitarianism

● Identifying specific interventions to evaluate, and matching these programs with researchers willing to evaluate them

● Prospecting potential donors for new projects and initiatives

● Mapping stakeholders in P&R’s priority project development sectors

Communications and policy outreach 35% 

● Drafting project summaries, blogs, and policy briefs, of funded projects on displacement and humanitarian issues, and liaising with research teams for approval

● Synthesizing existing impact evaluation research related to displacement and humanitarianism, translating it into clear policy takeaways

● Working with grantees to share intermediary (e.g. baseline results) and final findings with partners for learning and decision-making

● Coordinating evidence dissemination workshops and events with practitioners and researchers, especially in countries where we have a presence and where research has been conducted

● Drafting case studies on evidence use by partners

● Supporting the policy work of IPA Country Offices related to the topic

● Managing other communications and dissemination opportunities as required

General program administration 15%

● Tracking key displacement and humanitarian contacts

● Supporting the streamlining of P&R’s processes and procedures

● Contributing to the implementation of IPA’s diversity, equality, and inclusion strategy, including tracking P&R’s progress against organizational metrics

Qualifications

Required

● Bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, public policy, or related disciplines

● At least 3 years of work or internship experience in research, international development, program administration, or a related field

● Demonstrated knowledge of topics related to displacement and humanitarianism

● Attention to operational and research detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently

● Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with internal and external stakeholders using cogent, precise, non-technical language

● Ability to present information in a structured and insightful way, both in writing and orally

● Flexibility, self-motivation, willingness to learn, and a team-oriented attitude

Preferred

● Knowledge of topics related to peace and recovery and/or impact evaluation methodologies

● Experience developing research projects in related sectors

● Proficiency in Excel and CRM software like Salesforce

● Proficiency in Spanish or French is a plus
