Job description

  • Management and further development of the ZFD programme in Uganda based on the approved ZFD applications and the cross-provider ZFD strategy
  • Exchange and networking with existing and potential cooperation partners
  • Representation of the ZFD vis-à-vis the German Embassy, ​​implementing organisations and relevant governmental and non-governmental institutions in coordination with the GIZ Country Directorate
  • Supporting ZFD experts and partners in the impact-oriented planning and monitoring of ZFD measures
  • Management of the ZFD’s knowledge management and public relations work in the country as well as support within the framework of the ZFD global program
  • Personnel management and support of national and international ZFD specialists as well as administrative staff
  • Management of the ZFD office structure at the three locations Soroti, Moroto and Gulu
  • Budget responsibility: Ensuring the earmarked use of funds, financial planning and monitoring as well as accountability
  • Profile 
  • University degree in social/political/cultural sciences or comparable professional qualifications, preferably with a focus on peace and conflict research
  • Several years of work experience in civil conflict management/peace work abroad, experience as a specialist in the Civil Peace Service is desirable
  • Experience in project management, conflict-sensitive project management as well as team and personnel management
  • Knowledge and practical experience in project management and financial management
  • regional knowledge
  • High consulting skills, team orientation and intercultural sensitivity
  • Fluent German and English skills
